MBH&C Railway (PM Buchanan Branch) Bridge over the St. Joseph River, 1897

The Milwaukee, Benton Harbor and Columbus Railway's bridge over the St. Joseph River, as it appeared in 1897.

This lightweight bridge, located just south of Benton Harbor, was built for the MBH&C in the late 1890s. The PM acquired this trackage as its line connecting Benton Harbor to Buchanan in 1903. The PM used this branch until 1924.

In 1928, the bridge was lowered closer to the river and converted for use as a highway bridge.
